DirectoR’S Report
With Mick “Swoop” Luke
Hi all! I am sure I just wrote the last monthly
newsletter item and suddenly Sue is knocking on our doors again. [Heh heh. Be afraid. Be very afraid. . . Ed] Good to see more people turning out
to our rides and get togethers.
NT rally went very well; everyone
that attended had a great time and those that missed out, well you missed out
on a great weekend. The National Rally is now only eight weeks away with a good
turn-out of our members going. It will be a memorable couple of weeks:
socialising, riding and having a blast around the Adelaide Hills, well for some
anyway (Hoot’n), but remember where there is a bend there is always going to be
a straight to follow.
Hog Memorial Run DON’T FORGET is on the 9 SEPTEMBER AT
Saturday the 1st September the
Flying Fox Festival is on in Katherine. We have been invited to attend as
therre will be a bike and car show at the Civic Centre. I have attached the
flyer for this. If anyone wishes to go I am looking at doing it myself, so
there will be a vehicle available to take things down if needed. All I require
is a driver.
Accommodation and food as you will
see is very cheap and we will meet up with the Father’s Day run on Sunday at Manton
Dam.

With Sue Drinkwater
Hello all
As usual, many, many thanks to those members who have taken the
time and trouble to send me something for this month’s newsletter. I have
received some more chapter member profiles, so if you’ve sent one in, look out
for it in the newsletter over the next few
months. A couple of reports missing this month, so not so many pages for you.
Nobody picked the deliberate error
in last month’s newsletter. I thought I’d stay schtum about it and see if
anyone noticed. Tch tch, you lot! Not a
peep out of anyone! Now you’re going to have to go back and look, aren’t you?
Closing date for October’s
newsletter is 17th September 07.
Please keep the profiles, ads, jokes, photos, reports etc coming in. I
know you’re busy: so am I, so please support your newsletter, or there’s no
point my continuing.
Bye
for now & see you on the road somewhere.
Sue

WEBMASTER’S Report
With Richard “Rat” Tokarcyk
Pics
from the rally are now up on the web. Many thanks to Brian Sweeting for the
huge selections of pics taken.
Looking
for pics taken during our night-time activities and results of the Gymkhana.

Tech Talk
With Charlie “Mad Dog” Caden

Well it's getting closer those of us
that are going to the Rally. Still time to get those jobs done to the bike.
Had the fuel filter changed on the
Ultra because it had 55,000kms on it, and the book said 40,000. If you have a
few kms up, you should think of doing it to be on the safe side, as the fuel we
get is not great , and it's going to be a long way between drinks. Also, throw in
a set of plugs; it will do it the world of good.
Had a look at the new fuel PLUS ULP,
which is a 10% Ethanol Enhanced Fuel. PLUS ULP is unleaded petrol with higher
octane at 95, whereas regular ULP is 91 octane. It is environmentally friendly,
as it contains 35% oxygen, resulting in cleaner burning fuel and it is suitable
for Harleys. I haven't had a go yet but might try a tank full, and will keep
you informed.
At the moment the shoulder is still
buggered and the knee is getting better after operation, so can't do much on
the bike. Why can't we be born old and grow young?? [I’ll drink
to that. Ed]
If you are going on to the Rally,
let Rat know so we can get numbers, as he’s booking all the trip details.
